Bring a blanket, dig your toes into the sand and have an impromptu picnic! Pier Park is a quick walk away from Columbia Street and is fully equipped with benches and umbrellas for a peaceful afternoon. If sand isn’t your thing, you can sit on the grass among the wood columns and watch the river flow.

*If you’re looking for a treat, Eats at the Pier (concession stand) sells ice cream, cold drinks and snacks!

The shaded walk sandwiched between the Fraser River and residential area is an ideal spot to take lunch. If you didn’t bring your own lunch, the River Market is minutes away and hosts a wide variety of restaurants. Benches, shaded spots and even lawn chairs dot the boardwalk, leaving ample room to spread out. It is also a popular dog-walking spot, so watch for all the cute pups!

The waterfall provides a soothing backdrop noise for your lunch.
