Tinypreneurs
11:00am -03:00pm
The Tinypreneurs event is an unique, innovative, philanthropic, and educational experience, for children as young as 7 years old to be exposed to the world of an entrepreneur. It will allow children and their entire family to explore and embrace the benefits of entrepreneurship from an early age, as well as showcasing their talent and creativity.
Our goal is to plant the seed that will encourage children not only to imagine their first business venture, but also to create the space to integrate the lessons of earning money from their own efforts associated with the pursuit of social responsibility toward maintaining a sustainable environment and being sensitive to the well-being of humanity and communities as a whole. The children who go through the program will treasure these valuable tools and use them for the rest of their lives.
This event is free to children from all walks of life, cultures and religious backgrounds and boasts a festival-like vibe, reminiscent of a lemonade stand. The children will be encouraged to brainstorm business ideas, and freely allow our children to express their ideas, work it out, and learn from their own experience of running their “own business”.
Their business ideas can be as basic as a Lemonade stand, or can assist and feature their family-owned business or can be as complex and innovative as they can imagine. Some examples of the Tinypreneurs stands can be a florist stand, a musician’s stand or a high-tech stand. The list of stands can be as diverse as the child’s imagination will go. The sky’s the limit to the endless creativity of our children.
The stands at Tinypreneurs event will be the foundation of a new generation of business men and women of our future society.

Kyle Jones holds no punches when he hits the stage. He has quickly carved out a reputation as one of Canada's hardest hitting comics. He got his start on the airwaves every morning as a radio personality at a rock station in Vancouver as well as juggled an acting career which took him back and forth between L.A and Vancouver. Kyle's witty and Edgy style leaves nothing untouched. When it comes to Sex , Relationships (failed) and everything else you're afraid to tell your friends Kyle exposes. His style of honesty with a punchline gained him a spot as a finalist in 2011 Canada's Next Top Comic. And this is only the beginnin

Read MoreThrive Talks with Director Curator Sarah Joyce
For our 16th THRIVE Talk we thought we’d create a truly unique THRIVE Talks experience! We’re excited to announce that director curator of New Media Gallery Sarah Joyce will be our speaker for June.
The New Media Gallery is a contemporary public art gallery devoted to the presentation of international, national and regional new media art and also happens to be one of our very favourite galleries. In the first part of the evening Sarah will share her inspiring THRIVE Talk with us and then will give us a private guided tour of the gallery and their current Bridge exhibit! We will enjoy a talk and a tour all in one night.
The talk will take place in the Anvil Centre on Thursday, June 29th from 6:30pm until 8pm. Then it will be time for a tour around the gallery for personal after hours tour of the Bridge exhibit!
After the talk there will be time to ask questions and mingle until 9pm.
It’s our first time leaving Vancouver for a THRIVE Talk but the Anvil Centre is just a two minute walk from New Westminster skytrain station. This unique experience will be well worth a little extra travel!
------------------------------------------------------------------
THRIVE Talks speakers are successful women—including those who are cis, trans, gender non-binary, gender-fluid and femme-identified—in the arts who share their journeys, successes and advice. With a single speaker for the night we are able to really get to know them and dive deep on certain topics that relate specifically to artists' lives.
