Public hours are from 2pm – 8pm. These are free events which are attended by simply dropping in. ma·chine məˈSHēn/ noun an apparatus consisting of interrelated parts with separate functions, used in the performance of some kind of work 2. a mechanical apparatus or contrivance; mechanism 3. a device that transmits or modifies force or motion. A set of simple instructions guide both performers and public. They are: Change shape Use what is there Occupy centre Relinquish centre Value the margines Find rhythm Don’t be a jerk Dance Machine is a kinetic sculpture that can be transformed into multiple configurations by the actions and movement of the bodies within it. Featured Artists: Michelle Olson Natalie Tin Yin Gan Sujit Vajda Tada Hozumi Ray Hsu Aryo Khakpour Alexa Mardon Daisy Thompson Dance Machine was made by Lee Su-feh, Jesse Garlick and Justine A. Chambers A set of principles govern how artists relate to each other, to the environment and to the public. This Manifesto forms the basis for all encounters as the Dance Machine journeys to different places. The public is invited to enter: share tasks, play, rest and converse with a small group of artists who act as hosts, guides and facilitators. An embodied experience that has the potential to inspire deep rest as well as mindful play, the Dance Machine can also simply, be a beautiful dynamic object to witness from multiple perspectives.
