Not sure Whataeat? Drop by the Shops at New West complex to try their newest restaurant!

Once a beloved food truck, (featured at Columbia StrEAT, we might add) WhataFood has moved into a brick and mortar storefront to bring you that sweet Brazilian food all year round.

Pastels

These are fantastic, they are essentially a deep-fried dough pocket filled with meat and cheese. When you bite into a pastel you are greeted by a fried sweet bread and a supremely satisfying crunch. You can have your pastel packed with a bunch of different protein options or just cheese and oregano. We’re not saying you should use them as burger patties but that does sound pretty good. Pastels are thin, light, and clean, making them extremely transportable and a fantastic meal on the go.

sugar cane

If you are in the mood to try a new drink, grab some of their sugar cane juice. This sweet juice is surprisingly thick and comes with either pineapple or lime flavoring. It’s cold, it's sweet and it's refreshing. Sugar cane juice is popular around the world so it’s nice to finally see it in Downtown New West!

Chocolate

If you grab a combo, you can get a drink, a pastel, and chips or chocolate. We would highly recommend the chocolate. It tastes great and reminds us of a Ferrero Rocher. It's crunchy, delicious, and serves as the cherry on top for your pastel.l

Cheese Puffs

These Fried Cheese puffs are perfect if you need an injection of dairy into your day. Does anything sound better than biting into a giant ball of fried cheese on a stick right now? Be honest, you can’t think of anything. We’d dare say that it's almost worth it for those of us who are lactose intolerant, as long you don’t have plans for the rest of the day.

It’s so exciting to see WhataFood become a permanent brick and mortar restaurant, especially when it’s so close to the skytrain! Pop by Whatafood and give them a New West welcome.
